Teaching

My teaching experience includes the following courses I taught at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and vast experience as a teaching assistant at the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, and at the Geography Department at UBC.

UBC - GEOG 102 - Introduction to Biogeosciences: Climate and Vegetation

UBC - GEOG 103 - Our Changing Environment: Water and landscapes

My teaching incorporates lessons learned from the Carl Weiman Science Education Initiative (CWSEI) and takes into consideration differences in learning styles:

Mentoring

On 2014 I co-supervised my first M.Sc. thesis on statistical downscaling.

Congratulations, Andres for successfully completing the requirements for your graduation !!

The thesis was titled:

"DESARROLLO DE UN MODELO DE RED NEURONAL ARTIFICIAL PARA LA REDUCCIÓN DE ESCALA (downscaling) DE DATOS DE TEMPERATURA DEL MODELO CLIMÁTICO GLOBAL CANADIENSE 3.1 A ESTACIONES METEOROLÓGICAS COLOMBIANAS"

"Development of an artificial neural network to statistically downscale the Canadian Global Climate Model 3.1 to weather-station scale in Colombia"
